LOOKING UPON ATOMS. An analysis of a scientific film: Starting with the projection of the film « Looking upon atoms », which presents under the form of a fictional tale the basic physics involved in transmission electron microscopy, an analysis will be developed on the construction of a scientific film in a concrete example : constraints, multilevel reading, specificities of such a mean of communication.

AthenaWeb is a web-based platform created, thanks to EU support, to boost science film production and circulation in Europe. It is an on-line B2B toolbox and marketplace where professionals involved in communicating science through audiovisual media (films, documentaries, VNR’s) can meet to exchange content and ideas, and to explore opportunities for co-productions and collaboration.

A few years ago, you could guess which country was producing which science programme.
Today, because of globalisation, it is no more true; but it still remain two types.
the international co-productions – mainly in the northern countries
the local “operational” productions – mainly the emerging countries.
Even, it remains some diversities; this is an invitation at “skimming” through the 5 continents’ TV programmes and discover how they inform the “citizen” to become able to choose the kind of society he wants to live in.
