Leukaemia is a problem linked to the white cells in the blood. The white cells are produced in the marrow of flat bones like the hip or the sternum, and the job of a white cell is to clean our blood. The life of a white cell should be similar to that of any other cell: to live, reproduce and die. In the case of leukaemia, the white cells forget to die and they accumulate in the blood causing illness.
