On the french Mediterranean coast, mosquito control began during the 60’s. It was the first
step of a massive touristic and industrial development of the coast. In order to preserve its
exceptional biodiversity and landscapes, Camargue- the Rhone river’s delta has been kept
out of the treated areas. But in 2006 the first test of massive mosquito control has begun
inside the Natural Park. “The Delta of Aedes” tries to explain these changes and explain us
what could be the consequences of the insecticides spread on the fauna of the biggest
wetland in Europe.
